Positive Review for SENCER, Engaging Mathematics, and SoTL

Teaching & Learning Inquiry, the journal of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, reviewed Doing the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Mathematics, a book edited by Jacqueline M. Dewar and Curtis D. Bennett and published by the Mathematical Association of America.

Cindy Kaus, Rikki Wagstrom, Lynn Gieger, and John Nardo, four Engaging Mathematics professors, wrote chapters for this book. Reviewers provided commentary from three different perspectives–linguistics, mathematics, and statistics. The SENCER approach and transferability of math skills to other disciplines, such as writing, were notable in reviewer comments. For more, read the full review.
